Soul Clap Collaborate with George Clinton and Sly Stone

By Dillon Riley

Boston house duo Soul Clap are set to release their highly anticipated collaboration with funk legend George Clinton this May on their own label Soul Clap Records. Culled from a session that took place between the Funkadelic leader and the Soul Clap boys at Red Bull Studios in LA, the four track release also features a guest cameo from another funk legend, Sly Stone. As the story goes, Stone appeared in the studio during a brief taco break and asked to drop by for a cameo. Naturally Soul Clap obliged.

Soul Clap’s own Eli Goldstein will be a special vinyl-only DJ set at Middlesex Lounge this Friday, while the whole crew will be throwing down later that night at RISE one last time before the famed after-hours dance club shutters it’s doors for good on April 25.

Soul Clap plays Thursday May 14th at the Middle East Downstairs as part of the Crew Love showcase. To get into all the shows purchase a Together Boston pass today!
