In our fifth year, we’re in a position to host some major talent from all over the world, but in this instance, on Wednesday, May 14th at the Middle East Downstairs, the talent comes from right here in America.
Detroit is a cultural titan when it comes to music (Motown, Madonna, Eminem to name just a few) but in the annals of electronic music, Detroit Techno is a singular, well, revolution. From its first wave to its “second wave” to MK to Carl Craig to Kyle Hall. The list goes on and on.
But Robert “Noise” Hood was a member (the “Minister of Information”) of Underground Resistance, a staunchly insular organization featuring “Mad” Mike Banks, the visionary Jeff Mills and its rigid backbone: Robert Hood. Hood plays the most straight-forward style, a vigorous beat, advanced electronic sound, and in a continuous fashion. If you really want to hear the sound of Detroit Techno, Hood is your man.
With all that in mind, tickets for his show: Wednesday, May 14th at the Middle East Downstairs, are on sale now. You can always get the pass and be included, but if you just want to spend one night under the influence of this master, early bird tickets are just $15.
