Saturday night was it, the final night of programming at Together’s Central Stage and you could feel it in the crowd early on: the weird, but ultimately fitting mix of sleep-deprived delirium and wide-eyed anticipation of the music ahead. To then say that last night’s performances delivered would do a great disservice to what unfolded. The Middle East Downstairs was positively rumbling last night, from the pit to the photobooth not a soul was standing still. How could you with the likes of J.Phlip, Axel Bowman AND Matthew Dear pummeling you with next-level sounds? (Not to mention a lovely opening set from our own Dumka!) Anyways, before we said goodnight and good luck to the #tgthr7 mainstage there was the massive slate of daytime activities to attend to. Let’s delve into that.
First on the docket was the opening party for much beloved Cambridge outdoor party Dancing On The Charles. The lineup boasted a bevy of talented local acts and Together alumni like John Barera, Randy Deshaeis, Matt McNeill, and B3RAO!
And the second being the seventh annual Together Record Fair! While also selling a few pieces from his own collection, internationally renowned DJ Martyn also dropped in to the Recharge Lounge to play a set for the big record shopping crowd!
This year at Together we also hosted a Satellite event in partnership with Agents of Vibe: a boat cruise around Boston Harbor set to great tunes. Headlining the event was Brooklyn’s Bedouin.
As mentioned, last night’s Middle East Downstairs show was sweltering.

Meanwhile, upstairs at the Middle East we hosted our annual collaboration with longtime-running local party Soulelujah! This year’s featured artist was New York’s Natasha Diggs, who wowed with a funky all-45s set.
Sadly tomorrow is the eight and final day of Together 2016, please help us go out in style at our closing party at Middlesex Lounge and/or take in some of the more family-friendly daytime events were hosting prior. It’s been a wild ride and we cannot wait to see on the dancefloor one last time!
