In part, Art Department’s success can be attributed to patience, a fundamental of house music in its classic form. Their tracks, like their house predecessors, are long, evolving affairs that introduce new, catchy ideas only when necessary, to maximize the amount of time you spend moving your body. In another part, it comes down to smart, modern choices and a sense of fun. Though the ideas stay for a long while, they’re constantly playing with panning effects, delays, and filters, to keep things moving. And having Seth Troxler on a track always makes things a little more fun.
Clearly a group to watch, Art Department only has one album and already has the world’s attention. Be there when they break down Bijou.
